2PM has won first place for the first week of May on Music Bank. They were able to block Rain's streak of wins and Hyori's first win on the show. 2PM's win gave a bigger shock to Hyori than Rain as she lost the first rank title of the week, arousing speculations about Music Bank. Their win came off as nothing more than a signal for the two to leave the stage as their album promotions near the one month mark.

Of course, 2PM's win might finish in the first week that it started. But with their former leader Jaebum's termination, the results are surprising once you take in the fact that their fandom has become divided and most of them have turned around into antis. Although it seems as if this will be 2PM's last win for this round of promotions, JYPE should be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

The influence of their first win on the rest of their activities will most likely not be grand. Once the greatest idol band, 2PM was met with a continuous fall after Jaebum was terminated. Although their tenacity and destructive power may not be what it was before, they were able to confirm a fandom that still supported them now more than before, making their win their most touching event since their debut.

There has even been controversy surrounding the album sales of Rain last week, and 2PM this week. Regardless, 2PM and Rain achieved similar scores in other categories and both managed to win #1 with their album sales.

However, what's more important is that this shows 2PM's fandom as undiminished amongst the controversy. Although they might not be like before, they have gathered their strengths and were able to show it off all at once in order to help 2PM's resurrection. Regardless, it is difficult to measure the strength of 2PM's fandom with just this one win as it is lacking and incomplete. 2PM's win shows what's expected of them, which is a time of self reflection and recreation as opposed to shouts of glee and happiness.

It's hard to discredit this win as 2PM was barely able to manage it. They must be modest in the face of such a cold message of warning from the mass public. One does not have to delve into the issue deeply as it is seen by just the Music Bank scores alone. With the hoard purchase done by the fans, 2PM was able to turn away the other competitors. Despite their song being recent, the fact that 2PM received such low points in their music scores and level of viewer interest/favoritism shows what a critical situation they are in.

Their level of viewer interest especially was as low as rookie groups that had just made their debuts, showing more reason for 2PM to show modesty. The level of viewer interest for 2PM was never that high to begin with but in comparison to their Heartbeat promotions, the points have been cut in half, clearly showing the attitudes of the mass public towards 2PM. It also shows what 2PM needs in order to meet the requests of Korea's music industry. What's asked for is not only truth and a clarification of a right or wrong but also virtue, added attributes to the list of things a singer must do in addition to singing and dancing.

With the band wagon mindset so strong in Korea, Hottests were able to win over the antis by protecting 2PM and supporting them. That alone holds so much more meaning than the fact that 2PM won #1. They were given another chance despite their hatred, and they were unable to be thrown away even through death. 2PM must treat these fans with the utmost respect because 2PM did not achieve this win, Hottests did.

What's left for 2PM to do is to clarify the suspicions and problems surrounding their group in order to allow the mass public to enjoy them without having to be watchful of other eyes. Let's not forget that.

So their song is good enough to be #1 but I've never even heard it until I turned on the TV today..

So the fans bought 10, 100 CDs at a time, with a final hoard purchase of 6,500 and then went out into the streets and gave them away for free. Is that what you call a 'victory of the Hottests?' This is a manipulation of music program rankings and a distortion of the music market.

Is this another one of JYPE's media play gone excessively wrong?
Fans had to hoard purchase in order to even get their albums sold.
I've never even heard of this song, what exactly is the victory here?
