JYPE continues its path of unfavorable conditions

The music industry's major agency, JYP Entertainment, has been met with another controversy. On the 11th, an English tutor for the girl group the Wonder Girls revealed that the girls were illegally living in the company's office and did not have health insurance, thus not being able to receive proper health care.

With the Wonder Girls' comeback set for the 16th with their new album '2 Different Tears,' the sudden controversy is most definitely not a welcome factor to JYPE.

2PM's former leader Park Jaebum had also previously left Korea and was eventually terminated from the company, causing many fans to turn their backs on JYPE. There were even rumors in the beginning of the year about whether 2PM will be temporary halting their activities due to the controversy.

Although the controversy has since been quiet, the press is once again on fire after news of Jaebum's new movie 'Hype Nation' was revealed to the public along with his June return.

That is not all. Sunmi's withdrawal from the Wonder Girls only brought about more questions.

Despite all of these controversies, the speculation that the Wonder Girls were met with unfair treatment in America has once again caused JYPE embarrassment.

After the controversy became more serious, Representative Jung Wook stated in an interview with Money Today Star News, "I think of it as a difference in interpretation of the cultures. I don't understand why people feel the need to make something a problem when it was already taken care of. The JYP Center in Manhattan has the same structure as the JYP building in Korea. We told the Wonder Girls that they had the option of staying at a dorm in New Jersey but they themselves asked to stay in Manhattan. There's two floors that are built in dorms."

He went on to state, "After we fully understand the situation as to why this issue became so big, we will be taking legal action against the person that stated these things and we will be asking him to take full responsibility."
