Idol stars too busy standing on their own, completely ignores their team in crisis
Actors that are originally from idol groups have been roughly and unabashedly moving forward with their careers despite the various suspicions that surround them. They use the sterility of their fandoms and use silence as their weapon against unfavorable situations.
Where is his severe private life problem? = Group 2PM's former member Jaebum withdrew from the team in January with the reason of a severe private life. JYP Entertainment emphasized on the fact that his private life could cause a negative impact on society.
However, Jaebum has made a comeback with the warm welcome of his fans. He has never given a definite apology on his 'Korea controversy' and has failed to reveal the truth behind his severe private life problem but he has still managed to bring up his worth day by day. He's contracted with a new agency and has released a solo debut single. Aside from 'Hype Nation,' he is also in the lineups for a drama and a few CF castings. His career is doing better than when he was with 2PM.
Although he has officially began his activities in Korea, he remains silent on his past controversies. He has been doing everything profitable for him while acting as if he doesn't care about the mass public's curiosities. Basically, one or the other, JYPE or Jaebum, is lying about the severe private life.
Even when the team is in a disbandment crisis, drama debuts go forth = DBSK's Micky Yoochun has a drama debut set even while his team is facing disbandment. Due to a contract dispute with SM Entertainment, DBSK's future has become opaque. Regardless, Micky continues to focus on his personal activities.
Industry associates believe that 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' is not a drama worth putting over the priorities of his team's crisis. Historical dramas require the best acting skills but 'Sungkyunkwan' has decided to use an idol group member that is just debuting as an actor. His acting skills are most likely to become highly controversial later. There has even been criticisms that idol stars usually strip themselves of their group's name as they completely transform themselves into an actor but Micky has failed to do so, leading many to believe that the drama is manipulating DBSK's fame as Hallyu stars for the drama itself.
A team leader transfers agencies = Recently, SS501's leader Kim Hyunjoong has transferred agencies to Bae Yongjun's Kaist. An idol group's leader transferring to another agency on his own is an unprecedented case. SS501 is a highly popular group in all of Asia but now faces a disbandment crisis while Kim Hyunjoong continues his career with 'Playful Kiss' and his 'Boys Over Flowers' popularity.
SS501's future can no longer be predicted. Kim Hyunjoong has not released any official statement on the team's position. The team can be kept together even while they promote in different agencies but the majority opinion of the industry is that it will never be like old times.
