2PM members entered as we were finishing off the setting for recording.

It’s a bit odd to say this, I’m a man but, but… They were really handsome.

(I can imagine it for the ladies)

Starting off with Taecyeon’s rap.

“Um, there’s one part I feel is a bit empty that I’d like to change~”

Originally, there was a gap before ‘I need your love’ in the rap part.
Taecyeon’s idea was to change this part to “Girl you know that I need your love”.

“Yup, anyhow is fine~”

So we put things straight to work and Taecyeon made a smooth start to the recording.

Beastly-dol 2PM and Ra.D’s collaboration.. It was a little awkward when I said:

“I wasn’t gonna say this but.. You guys are actually really handsome huhuhu”

…

“sfopaijkhieoporjgfs~!”

And their faces cringed like a squid in the fire..

I can understand - at the time they had no make up on and they were wearing training pants. They seemed to be really shy.. (Where did your charisma go kk)

And so that’s how our awkwardness disappeared.

Recording went smoothly in the order of Chansung, Nichkhun, Junho, Wooyoung and Junsu. They showed more and more confidence as we went into the second half, and as we did with Narsha & Ga-In, it was sad to be working in a limited time space because of their schedule.

It was now time to come back to the studio and take the Best Takes from the recorded sources.

There were 6 of them so the tracks on my mixing programmed looked like this huhuhu;;

That’s kind of a lot. Huhu..

For your information, this Best Take process took the longest out of the whole working time;

I’m that type of person who always take the longest in mixing.

Recording on the 24th, Best Take finished on the 28th
But.. But, the mastering was on the 30th.

We couldn’t push the time anymore further;;;;;;;;

.. mixing in just after 2 days..

To smile or to cry, to accept this situation as a ‘new challenge’ or ‘devastating reality’… I had to think about it for hours until I thought of their happy facial expressions.

30th. Mastering.

The day had to be on the same day as the performance at Seoul Woman’s University so I couldn’t attend the mastering session, which was both the source of trouble and a chance.

I was having doubts and yes, I did not get a satisfying final product..

It’s usual that the schedules with large Entertainment companies is not as flexible for the recording engineers, but thanks to the thoughtful A&R Jang Hana, we were able to buy 3 more days and this was a chance for me to refine my mix and went to Sony Korea on the 4th.

Choi Hyoyoung PD took charge of mastering.

If I get a chance later I will probably do a posting but Jeon Hoon PD and Choi PD’s work styles are very different.

Although I may not be the most normal person who does their mixing “ordinarily” and it took a while to find the merging point between people, I was happy overall thanks to Choi PD’s kind considerations.

Decided on the title as “I Can’t”.

And after a while I received a text message from BrotherSu.

“Hyung~ I can’t is 3rd on Cyworld chart !!”

This was a successful result after only a few hours of song release..

It’s always fun to work together huhuhu
