I, however, got to go and join this press conference and had just arrived home.
If it was just to summarize the whole article I would say that their manners and the way they talk is very gentle, and then that's when I realize that they are very well mannered.
The press conference started with 2PM, they all wore black suits which shows their muscular bodies which is obvious that they have been training for a long period of time. This press conference, the boys would have to speak a little bit of Japanese as well, but judging from their hectic schedule and their ability and knowledge of the Japanese language, it shows that even with their overflowing schedule, they studied Japanese really hard.
I also got the chance to ask them questions, I asked them about the artists that they like the most in Japan. Chansung said that he liked those mysterious type of genre so he was a fan of Higashino Keigo and has almost finished reading each and every single book he has ever written. And as for Junsu, he has a high interest in paintings, so he collected a lot of paintings/artworks that has been drawn by Japanese artists. And after that Nichkhun said that he has an obsession over the song "First love" by Utada Hikaru and that he has almost every single album she's ever produced and he also likes Matsumoto Jun in the drama Gokusen as well.
This proves that they knew a lot about the traditions in Japan.
And also in this press conference there is a question asking "What is the difference between Japanese fans and Korean fans".Taecyeon replied "The fans in Japan seem to be more shy even when they came to give us stuff and presents, they'd always seem so shy and say "sorry if it's disturbing you"".
Another also asked "Is there any place in Korea you suggest Japanese people to go?" Wooyoung who's hometown is in Busan stated "I would suggest going to Busan, my hometown, it has a lake called Haeundae (해운대) I want everyone to try the sashimi there" and as for Nichkhun who was born in Thailand stated "I would like to suggest Thailand, the island called Phuket". Taecyeon then toldNichkhun "They're talking about Korea you know" and then Nichkhun replied "yeah, I know". This made everybody laugh.
Then they moved the location to somewhere else where they do the show called "Yajiuma Terebi" by Asahi TV. The interviewer arrived and so I was just an audience. Once they entered the room, I'm sure they remembered me, they greeted me politely and bowed.
One thing I'm very sure of is that even though they're still young and still in their teenage years, they know what the word respect means. They know how to answer questions properly, and sometimes I even wonder whether the Japanese artists could answer in such a polite way.
And at that moment Nichkhun's eyes and my eyes met, I got a smile from him. I could feel the warmth in that smile, it was really cute.
And that was how the 30 minute interview ended, when I stood up, everybody misunderstanding thinking that I was the producer, they all greeted me politely again and bowed in respect.
Maybe it's because Korean artists are all about respect, they all have really good manners. Even their eyes are filled with sincerity when they talk, their eyes also show the burning passion they have for music and the want to expand into a larger community such as America and China
Personally, I think that 2PM and/or SHINee could indeed be as successful as TVXQ. They’re considered the groups of 'nice guys' and I wish them success in Japan.
