Dumbfoundead reveals info on concert in Seoul, Korea with Jay Park + more on uStream

Dumbfoundead jumped on uStream tonight for a quick intimate show with his fans. The show was announced through his Twitter (@Dumbfoundead) last minute, so he could speak more personally with his fans and answer questions. He began the show with some questions about himself, some inspiring words for aspiring emcees and rappers and finished off with some freestyling.

He advised anyone who wishes to become an emcee to get off their computer and "rap with friends in person". Continuing on, he stated, "YouTube rappers are cool and all, but covering Drake songs and beats by Lil Wayne doesn't make you an artist. You have to be original, go out there, make music with friends, do it live, freestyle at parties. I freestyle all the time, I do it driving, I do it everyday."

One of his fans stated that they do not have many friends who are interested in emceeing or freestyling, but Dumbfoundead was quick to answer that concern as well. He answered, "Go somewhere else and find others who do. Don't stay in your comfort zone. I'm nost saying find new friends, but find people who do it and vibe out with it. People stay in their comfort zone all the time, where everyone is telling you that you're dope. Meet people who think you're wack, it'll make you better."

User "youknoweno" continued the discussion with the question "do you think some rappers are too self absorbed with their experimenting?". Dumb went on to explain that he liked rappers who experiment, especially on Youtube. He says, "I think people play it safe and do cover songs. I want to change that. I'm going to be doing very different things on YOutube. You'll see my new mix-tape, it's very different."

Some of the artists Dumbfoundead plans to work with in the future are Bamboo and Pigeon Jeon. He has a lot of different friends who he hasn't been able to work with yet, but he's revealed that he would change that soon.

Dumbfoundead's tattoo has always caught the eyes of fans, the unique design of a octopus tentacles going up his arm is an instant conversation starter. He revealed that although he loves the movie Oldboy and it is inspired a bit from it, it has multiple meanings to him. Octopus squirt out ink, and ink has become his life with lyrics and freestyling. It also represents his swim team, "Thirsty Fish".

He continued on to reveal that he believes one needs at least 10 years to become a master at something. He estimated that the amount of time he's put into free-styling is well over 10,000, an impressive number for any free-styler!

Fans continued to ask questions on how they could join "Knocksteady", the independent label that Dumbfoundead and DJ Zo belong to. Dumbfoundead revealed, "I'm going to eventually do a Knocksteady street team at all these different countries. We'll definitely reach out overseas where people can join the team." causing fans to excitedly chatter on the possibility of joining the street team.

Finally, Dumbfoundead revealed that he would be releasing a mixtape sometime in the next two weeks, which would be free to everyone. The tape will include 7 - 8 new songs. He revealed, "you may have heard the songs somewhere, but DJ Zo chopped it up into beats and made new songs out of them." He also revealed that he would be holding a concert in Seoul with Jay Park, David Choi and DJ Zo in Seoul, Korea on December 21st.

On the topic of Jay Park, Dumbfoundead played a sneak preview into the official remix of track, "Clouds" featuring Jay Park and Clara C. The track had a great beat to it, remixing the song into something entirely different. The track will also be released, free, to everyone but the release date has not been set.

Closing up the live stream, Dumbfoundead showed his fans his amazing freestyling skills, incorporating some of the chat users names.

Make sure you follow Dumbfoundead on
