[INFO] 'Take A Deeper Look', More info on the tracklist and the upcoming mini-album release
April 27th will mark the return of Jay Park into the Korean music scene. Although he has released singles and dominated the charts, this will be his first solo mini-album. The "JAY EFFECT" is sure to make an appearance, with fans awaiting this album for over an year now.
The mini-album contains seven new songs with lyrics written by Jay Park himself. Produced with an R&B, hip-hop and dance genre, this new album will showcase the mature-side of Jay Park. With collaborations from artists such as Kang Min Kyung of Davichi, The Quiett, Dok2 and Cha Cha Malone of the AOM Crew, this album is highly anticipated.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of "Giant Baby" Jay Park, not only on music shows, but also variety shows, as it has been revealed that Jay Park will finally promote heavily in Korea with the release of this new mini-album. His emotional voice, charismatic stage presence and energy has been sorely missed on stage.
Working with artists that Jay Park has a deep friendship with, he has made this album all about him. Cha Cha Malone of the Art of Movement Crew worked heavily on this album, composing his songs as well as producing beats used in the album. His skills have been noticed by all in the track "Speechless" ft. both Cha Cha and Jay Park for vocals. They have also worked together on the song, "Bestie" which was released earlier in the year but will also be included in this new album.
Here, we "take a deeper look" into Jay Park's new album:
1. Touch the Sky (ft. The Quiett)
This song will reflect the more cheerful side of street hip-hop. The lyrics state that Jay will, "spread [his] wings to the sky" and reflect the honest, positive mindset that Jay Park has for himself and this album. The voices of both The Quiett and Jay Park create an appealing, rhythmic rap beat.
2. Abandoned (ft. dok2) *TITLE*
For Jay Park's first mini-album, he has chosen ABANDONED as the title track. With this track, you can feel the tension building up with a slow tempo but quickly intensifies as the tempo changes, creating an ear-catching R&B track. The melodies flow together with the lyrics, showcasing the pain that the singer (in this case, Jay) feels. It's an emotional and touching track that has a story which Jay Park clearly delivers well.
3. Tonight (ft. Kang Min Kyung of DAVICHI)
This electro-dance beat is the most exciting track of the album. The lyrics describe someone who's exhausted after a fun night and wants to enjoy themselves without worrying about anything. It describes the person not caring about work in the morning, not having to care about problems. The strong vocals of Kang Min Kyung compliment Jay Park perfectly, creating an amazing track.
4. It Has To Be You
This track features a beautiful piano melody and lyrics that flow perfectly to compliment the track. It showcases Jay Park's strong vocals but carries sadness, creating a powerful R&B track.
5. Don't Let Go
This track is different from some of the other tracks on the album, featuring a more "sexy" tone with an R&B feel to it. It's a sweet song that carries "exotic charm" with the lyrics, which says, "I'd be lost without you".
6. Level 1000 (ft. dok2)
This strong hip-hop song features the rapping talents of dok2, speaking of devils and has strong lyrics. The mix of "Thunderground Muzik" by dok2 compliments Jay Park well, as they take to the stage once again after their hit track, "Doin' Good (ft. Jay Park)".
