World Cup Big Concert with idol groups is canceled 4:21 AM

We reported earlier that idol groups would be coming together for a concert on April 10th to show support for the South Korean soccer team at this summer’s Fifa World Cup 2010 in South Africa. But that won’t be happening now.

It was announced on the 30th that due to the naval ship tragedy, the event would be inappropriate and thus they have decided to cancel the concert.

A number of different people in the business have contacted us offering their help and we’ve also been discussing the different possible companies with our source lately, after their phone call on the 8th. Our source just wanted to reiterate that:


We are not forcing Jay to go back Korea. We are only coming up with the opportunities for him to return, if he wants to. The decision will ultimately be his if any companies decide to contact him. He can either refuse their offer if he wants to stay in Seattle or if the situation won’t allow him to return. If he can and wants to return, he can accept their offer. Just wanted to make it clear that we are not forcing him into anything that he doesn’t want to be involved in. We also don’t know if JYPE will be doing anything to prevent him from returning.

The following is a breakdown of several companies and how our source feels about Jay joining them:

So far, we have YG, Pledis, Mnet, Good Entertainment, J. Tune, and CJ Entertainment on our list. SM is out of the picture.

I think for now, Mnet is the best choice along with Pledis. It’s probably better for Jay to just be in a smaller company rather than one of the big ones so he can be the biggest artist in that smaller company. Also, it doesn’t matter how big or famous a company is. The most important thing is whether they like Jay or not.

Even with Jay’s controversy in Korea, Mnet likes Jay and I think they can help him. As for Pledis, the style of music seems to be Jay’s style as well. Mnet might be one of better choices since they wanted to bring Jay back for MAMA (but JYPE had rejected it). Wild Bunny’s producer and staff really like Jay. I’m sure he has better chances to be taken in by Mnet. Their company’s biggest shares is owned by a Japanese boss. If Jay joins Mnet, he can go to Japan to further his career since the music industry there is huge. Mnet can help their artists to go into acting as well.

From the way I see it, Mnet artists are not that popular most likely because Mnet gives more attention to other companies’ artists rather than their own. Jay can help Mnet with popularity since they don’t have many active artists at the moment. The problem is that even though Mnet has bigger influence than JYPE in general, it’s a whole different story when it comes to backing up Jay.

For J.Tune, if Rain actually wants Jay, then he can most likely join.

YG doesn’t need any more recruiters/trainees right now, but Jay wouldn’t need to audition. Another problem is whether YG can get over the fact that they’re friends with JYPE… in order let Jay into their company but business is business. They should be able to do it without including any of their own personal affairs.

As for DSP, I know their company is still in debt right now. That’s why they kicked out AST’1. The time they were supposed to be preparing for their new album coincided with preparations with the new group, Rainbow. Since they lacked money to support both of them, they kicked out AST’1.

Jay can’t go to ZE:A’s company since they are still starting out.

I was also thinking if Good Entertainment can get Shinhwa from SM, why not Jay from JYPE? One of the Shinhwa members owns shares to Good Ent. Maybe Shinhwa can help Jay since they are a group themselves. I’m sure they know how Jay felt through this whole controversy. Jay is also friends with Minwoo.

CJ Entertainment is linked with the US. They have a big influence in the overseas market so we can try them as well. I think if Jay can’t come back to Korean companies, maybe it’s because JYPE blacklisted him but he’ll still have a chance at CJ. In CJ, their singers are mostly managed by Mnet, but Jay can release an album in the US as well as in Korea under their company. CJ also manages actors so Jay might be able to get into Hollywood if he wants to pursue acting.

All the companies need right now is to find an excuse to bring Jay back… or at least a reason for Jay to return to Korea so if and when Jay joins a company, it is accompanied by an official statement/reason.

Petition is a MUST. Emails/letters addressed to the different companies are important as well. If everyone bombards them, they will know how popular Jay still is.

JYPE attempted to settle any doubts and suspicions through their conference. The fans have revealed their stance, stating that they are clearly unable to support the decisions of the 6 members and have instead turned into antis. Hundreds of fan cafe's have deleted themselves and a fancafe with over 100k members, Hwansang, has turned boycott. There has even been a new cafe created named 'Antist,' a play on 2PM's official fanclub, 'Hottest.'

It's an exceptional, never before seen situation where the fans of an artist and a company have turned into anti's, not because of a group's disbandment, but because of one member's withdrawal. Professors of societal studies at Joong Ang University, Lee Nayoung and Jung Minwoo, compared the situation through a 'family relationships' model. This study was released last October entitled 'The fandom that manages the stars, the company that manages the fandom,' explaining a model relationship that can be explained through 'Fandom-Star-Agency' translating into 'Mother-Son-Father.'

Another attribute of the second generation fandoms are the 'support' they give for their stars. Their aim is simple: to bring the stars they like to the top of the top. The professor has stated, "The star is the son, the fandom is the mother, and the agency that gives life to the star plays the role of the father."

The father (agency) sets up the groundwork financially while the mother (fandom) raises the star to be ready to set forth in the entertainment market. They are also the ones that must map out the futures of the stars, taking into account all of the stars' conditions and qualifications. They are the managers that put it all into action.

However, problems easily arise from the fact that the level of the father and the mother aren't equal.

As much as the mother raises the son, she wants to exert that much more influence. Unfortunately, the father only accepts the mother's proposals, such as new products, at his convienance. She expressed her disappointment, stating, "JYPE only views the idol groups as a tool to develop the industry. The agencies raise the idols from a young age as a family. However, if JYPE truly saw Jaebum as a part of his own family, he would not have thrown him away so easily."

Well this shouldn’t be a surprise. This isn’t the first time JYPE hired other people before to do their dirty work. This isn’t really an update, but a recent fan account that we’ve translated:



I’m a 20-year-old freshman at 00 University keke.
I was in the middle of searching on Albax and Albaxx so I could earn some pocket money and also build up some experience…
But then I saw a notice saying that they were urgently needing to hire someone to just sit at a computer and put comments up on boards, and, feeling lucky, I called them.
A few hours after they told me they would call me back, I got a call.
I answered quickly, because I had also called other places about part-time jobs.
But it was the place where I had to put comments up on various boards, telling me to come in and work.

They told me they would pay me an amount for each comment, and that they worked three rotations daily.
So I told them I would do it and went to the location where they told me to go.
When I arrived, I asked them what I had to do and they said that I just had to comment on things that involved JYPE, Park JinYoung, and 2PM, and that I had to report comments that spoke very badly about them.
Although I didn’t work on NateON…
I had a bad feeling after working…
So I worked for a day, got the pay, and told them I wouldn’t do it.
I really believed them, so I’m so disappointed…


Their job was simple: post good things about JYPE, take 6PM’s side in your comments, and report the bad ones. They used to be paid $0.10 per word, but now it’s $70 per post. Nice job, huh?

After the third generation young Korean-American man was unjustly forced out of Korea, it looked as if his return to show business was certainly to be expected.

However on the 25th of February, the entertainment company unexpectedly announced Park Jaebum’s permanent withdrawal. The reason they gave was because of his immoral personal life. This reason that was announced by the entertainment company was more than enough bait for the netizens and the press.

Again like starved coyotes, it was obvious that they were going to attempt to try and find out what his immoral personal life was like. When I realized that they were killing Park Jaebum twice over through the evils of the internet in Korea, where human rights do not exist, where he was put in a situation where he cannot even defend himself, I could not contain my sadness.

However, my prediction was wrong. It was shocking. Surprisingly, after the announcement by the entertainment company, the public was showing boundless faith in Park Jaebum.

It was hard to find any antis attempting to witch-hunt. It was almost suspicious as to how this could happen on the internet in Korea.

Now with the past revealing his complete absorption in his training in his unfamiliar motherland, his tearful love for his parents who were far away, the thorough self-discipline through which he would not drink or smoke because of the dream he wanted to achieve, the cheerful way in which he learned more about the Korean society, this third generation Korean-American’s pureness and humbleness has grabbed a hold of the hearts of the netizens.

The general public who are defending him do not seem like they are coming from his young female fans. Men in their thirties and forties and housewives who are over fifty are, on various message boards and blogs, revealing their opinions. They are embracing the broken dream of the third generation young Korean-American man that was so appallingly stomped on and ripped under the large entertainment company.

On the other hand, the group members that pointed the arrow of betrayal towards him, their personal lives are being exposed uncontrollably. Because they were fans all this time, they glossed over and hid the members’ two-faced personal lives, but now without any filters, their personal lives have been revealed to the point where the internet is about to explode.

The fanclub of the members has been voluntarily closed under the manager, and the members of the fancafe are leaving in mass amounts. This is an unprecedented extraordinary event that is happening in the history of Korean show business and the internet.

The regrettable part is that at the cross section where he is being given both moving faith and dirty betrayal, where he has already once experienced horrible despair, he is again being given an incurable wound from his motherland itself.

His mother has said even as she is going through this current situation, “I am able to hope rather than despair when I see the maturity that Jaebum is showing even though he is put in a situation where he could despair over all of the rumors.”

Even though he was ripped and wounded to the point where he was thoroughly hurt, I wonder if his mother’s feelings are that because this is the country of her mother, the homeland of her son, she has no choice but to stay silent and can do nothing but forgive. When I think of his mother, who has probably countlessly repressed the tears that have been exploding from deep within her heart, my heart gets choked up.

Joseph was the sacrificial lamb for Potiphar’s honor. Potiphar sent Joseph to prision knowing he was innocent to protect his and his wife’s honor. There was a rumor that that Caesar’s wife also had an affair with another man. This turned out to be false. However, Caesar still cast out his wife. The reason? It is because Caesar believed that “there should not be any rumors about the wife of Caesar”. This is because of the characteristic of the men who cared more about their honor than the truth. That is why Joseph was falsely accused and sacrificed to save Potiphar’s honor. Joseph did not fight with people to try and convince them that he was innocent. He only cried to God about his false accusations. This is also important to us as believers. Joseph was put in prison under false accusations, but it turns out that prison was a shortcut to meet the king.

Right now, there is someone who is by my side that is also suffering from unspeakable false accusations. He is suffering from all sorts of rumors and gossipers. To save their own honor, they are making a young man and his parents suffer. It may look bad now, and even though you feel falsely accused, if you just trust and follow the way that God is leading you, it will turn out to be the fastest shortcut. When you feel falsely accused, you need to place your complete trust in God, who is creating the bigger picture. This is because God’s way of thinking is different from the way humans think. You could resolve it by retaliating like regular people. You could also resolve it by explaining. However, none of these solutions can completely resolve false accusations. Nevertheless, later on, when you look back at the way God has led you, it will have been the shortcut not to false accusations, but the shortcut to receiving blessings.
