[NEWS] 101102 2AM's new ballad album stands out on weekly Mnet chart, ONEDAY, Jay Park 10:27 PM
Four-member ballad boy band 2AM dominated cable music channel Mnet's singles chart last week with their newly released first full-length album.
During the week of October 25 to 31, tracks “You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls” and “Like Crazy” from the boys' latest record titled "Sain o'clock" took first and second place, respectively, on Mnet's singles chart.
Another two entrants on the chart, Lee Jung’s “Having to Separate” and SuperstarK 2 contestant Jang Jae-in’s “When I Stand Under the Shade of Roadside Tree,” each took third and fourth place, respectively.
SuperstarK 2 is a reality show which seeks out musical talents in Korea, also the equivalent to “American Idol” in the United States.
Hip-hop singer PSY’s “RIGHT NOW” climbed up a notch on the singles chart to reach fifth place.
Meanwhile, 2AM came first on Mnet's weekly album chart as well, reflecting the favorable response fans have shown of the group's latest release.
PSY’s fifth album “PSYFIVE” and five-member girl group 2NE1’s first album “To Anyone,” which took first and second place on the chart two weeks ago, were pushed a step each to land in second and third place last week.
An interesting trend detected on this week’s chart was the notable rise of albums by contestants from SuperstarK 2. Three albums made it into the top 10, claiming fourth, ninth and 10th place.

2PM Taecyeon is returning to the TV screens through KBS 2TV's new Mon-Tues drama, 'Dream High'.
Taecyeon, after successfully debuting in the living rooms through drama 'Cinderella's Sister' at the beginning of the year, has been casted as the genius dancer Jinguk in 'Dream High'.
In the drama, Jinguk is a problematic child who puts up a wall between himself and school. However, he gets recruited by Kirin Preparatory School's chairman who had noticed his talents, and discovers his gifts and dreams of becoming a world star.
Through this, Taecyeon is going to hold out in an acting battle with same-age actor Kim Soo Hyun, who had been casted before him. For 'Dream High', it has been known that Kim Soo Hyun is practicing dancing and singing, and Taecyeon working on acting and projecting.
Ok Taecyeon commented, "I'm really restless and anticipating upon having a new project. Since it's a drama that music accompanies, I anticipate it more, and I feel really good since I'm going to be working with many more good people, and sunbaes. I'll do my best to create a good product".
On the other hand, 'Dream High' is a global success project that garnered attention because Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young are working together on it, being about different teens with different conditions of birth, background, and the situations they're in, all entering Artistic Private School Kirin Preparatory School, working on their talents, and through countless challenges, evolve as world stars.
