SBS's representative variety program, 'Family Outing 2,' is unable to escape their weakness.
With safety figures from various variety programs, Kim Wonhee, Jin Sangryul, and Shon Bongsun have been working with 2AM Jo Kwon, 2PM Taecyeon, and SNSD Yoona along with Yoon Sanghyun, the program seemed to be off to a good start with high ratings.
'Family Outing 2' was able to achieve high popularity in the beginning stages with the cast of idol singers. The producers themselves expressed their confidence, stating things such as, "We will be taking all of the positive aspects of Family Outing 1 and advance them further."
Unfortunately, the harder they tried, the faster their viewer ratings dropped. The program is at a point where they have not been able to come out of their one number viewer ratings. 'Good Sunday' had alwas been rivals with KBS 2TV's 'Happy Sunday,' but they have now fallen to the embarrassing point of rivaling as the bottom of the variety world with MBC's 'Sunday Night.'
Why was 'Family Outing 2' met with such a fast fall? Some speculate that it is because of 2PM's former member Jaebum's withdrawal controversy, which has caused 2PM fans to completely ignore the show altogether.
However, the majority of the viewers agree that the reason for 'Family Outing 2's' failure is because of the boring concept. Many have flocked to the program's board, leaving critical comments such as, "The characters are too forced."
The fact of the matter is, the concept of 'Family Outing' series has been used for a variety of other 'Good Sunday' shows such as 'X-Man.'

However, 'Family Outing 2' has too much going on. The character of 'Kkap Kwon' was already shown on so many other programs by Jo kwon and Yoona fails to break herself apart as much as Lee Hyori or Park Yejin. Taecyeon also seems to be bench marketed off of Kim Jonggook's character but fails to live up to the expectations.
The forced love lines by the producers and the many captions that are placed all over the screen in order to create their characters also makes the viewers lose concentration.
With the worst viewer rating recorded by 'Family Outing 2,' many have been coming forward with talks of an early end. The producers immediately rejected the claim and put an end to the early ending controversy but would such talks have come out if the program itself had popularity?
In order to desperately raise their viewer ratings in a short of amount of time, they had to resort to copying other programs' concepts. Unforuntately, such acts have only caused the viewers to turn away more. We will continue to anticipate the program to become the kind of program that the producers predicted. 'A variety show with the scent of humanity.'
