[NEWS] 100418 2PM shouts about loyalty on Seoul buses

'
A company employee, Choi (28), was riding the 502 bus through Seoul when he heard a surprising new announcement being made through the bus speakers. As the bus neared the 'A' high school, the announcement stated, "This is A high school, a place where you're dead if you don't have loyalty!" The voice of this announcement was idol star '2PM.'

A couple of days later, Choi was once again surprised on the 600 bus headed towards Kwanghamun. As the bus neared 'B' high school, the bus made the same announcement, only switching the name of the high school around. "This is B high school, a place where you're dead if you don't have loyalty!"

But such bus advertisements had no relation to the schools themselves. The bus announcement advertisement is being done by a soft drink company, company 'C,' in order to promote their product to a younger audience. They came up with the idea to include the names of schools within the area into their marketing.

Currently, company C's bus marketing is being used in 33 different high school areas. The schools themselves have stated, "It's not a bad idea as it promotes our schools as well." On the contrary, the parents of students have stated, "It's irresponsible for the same high school advertisement to be going out when there's obviously going to be flexitime."
