After worrying about what kind of word I would wrap him up with, I made the decision that the word 'Park Jaebum' was enough to describe him. Meeting him at movie 'Mr. Idol's poster shooting after he suffered through another growth pain, he shyly said, 'The clothing is too provocative, isn't it' through a leather vest revealing his perfect abs. With this, in a rather embarrassing atmosphere, the 'Trend Interview' began.

Q. You had solid success (in your new album) such as getting the top spot of iTunes' R&B section, complete sellout of your limited albums, 3rd place in Billboard world charts, and most subscribed YouTube video as well.

I was so surprised. I think the effect of YouTube was the largest, because many people around the world watch YouTube. I kept doing YouTube steadily from last year, and fans who don't know K-POP like it, and I think they liked it more because I did it in English. Also, I saw that I got first place in iTunes in Norway and Denmark, even though I hadn't known I had fans there. I haven't been there, nor met anyone I know from there. I'll try going. (Laugh) I should go around a lot of places.

Q. What's your feelings on having finished your first broadcast? Did you anticipate your 1st place win?

Everything was unsatisfactory. My performance didn't meet my standards, it was hard to dance and sing at the same time. Mm... I didn't expect first place at all. I was just thankful about even going up in the list of possible winners. When I was looking at the score, at first, both of the scores kept going up and then it became the same amount. Then because my score suddenly shot up, I was really surprised. As for my feelings, I want to mention so many people, sidusHQ employees, AOM friends, fans, family, I think I said them all. Ah! And thank you to Music Bank, as well.

Q. On your first broadcast, I felt solemnity from your face. Was there no pressure on your first solo standing?

I had the thought of 'I'll do well', but I wasn't nervous. Honestly, I was a bit tense, but I wasn't nervous all that much since I had so much to think about, like singing and dancing. If you become nervous, your performance will completely fail. And I put thought to every part (of the performance). The camera captures my dancing and singing from start to end too. When I was in a group, I just had to sing for 15 seconds and then dance my best, but this time, since I had to both dance and sing as well as maintain my breathing, there was a lot of things to take care of.

Q. Did you say hello to any idols at the music program?

There were only idols. I was especially surprised since there were many girl groups. We said hello, and U-KISS' Soohyunnie was someone I knew from my JYP trainee years, and the other people showed support for me since they debuted around the same time as me. I met Jokwon, too. He supported me saying that he liked my songs and that he downloaded (bought) them, and we talked about a lot of things afterwards.

Q. After you got first place, a lot of celebratory Twitter messages from other celebrities poured out.

I'm very thankful to all of them. I didn't even know B2ST's Yong Junhyung sent one to me. I saw him once or twice since I have the same choreography teacher as him, and I know a few B2ST members as well. I haven't seen Haha hyung before, but a few fans of mine had gone to his pork restaurant and had posted up a congratulatory/supporting message from him. After seeing it, I passed on a message of thanks to him.

Q. What was your family's reactions like after winning first place?

My mom sends me a text saying 'Cool son, good luck, fighting' every day. After I won first place, she cried. I called her, and she was sniffling. My dad was at the waiting room when I won, and he told me congratulations, and that I was cool. A lot of people wonder about how I speak with my family- I speak in English with my brother, and I used to talk in English with my parents but since my Korean skills increased, I talk in Korean with them.

Q. Your title track 'Abandoned's lyrics and choreography is unique.

I didn't think about choreo with a point, but I got one. It's an improvisation of touching my face with my hands. It's something I do while going along to the feel and I did it because it seemed cool. I 'feel' it a bit. (Laugh) I went free with the foot motion where it looks like I'm riding a skateboard and the dance where I pull on my clothes.

Q. The reason why there's no acrobatics in this choreography?

Everyone knows that I can do acrobatics. (Laugh) This time, I both wrote and composed, and I wanted to show a bit of my musician side. Since I can show you acrobatics whenever I want to, maybe in my second album or whenever, there's a bit of that in the 'Tonight' music video. Also, I think it'll feel too obvious if I came out with acrobatics right after I start, so I want to show it to you guys later.

Q. You worked with Dok2 on your album, when did you guys get close?

I met Dok2 while performing in Seattle. When I had a bboy performance with AOM, there were a few rappers who performed there, and one of them was Dok2. Dok2 said to me that he liked my rapping and singing from before when he heard them. I actually saw Dok2 before at All Black. But at that time, I didn't know Dok2 was that Dok2. (Laugh) Since Dok2 said at that time 'Let's try working on a song together sometime', I worked with him when I went to Korea. Since I have no friends in Korea, I hung out with Dok2 and got closer to him when we worked on music. When I met with Dok2, we eat, then produce, and then I ended up meeting The Quiett after that, I'm close to all of them.

Q. Where do you usually get inspiration for lyrics? Your Korean improved as well.

You just have to listen to a lot of songs. First, I pick a beat, and if the beat's good, I choose a theme, make a hook, and write Korean lyrics accordingly. Truthfully, it's difficult, but I don't get any help. I write it 100% by myself and as for the things that don't make sense at all, I fix it by asking either Dok2 or The Quiett hyung. And as for my Korean abilities, it increased a bit because I kept writing lyrics in Korean. But it's still really hard. Don't you feel it? I still can't speak Korean well when I go on TV.

Q. You stood on Ne-Yo's concert as the opening stage. The reason that worldwide stars choose Park Jaebum?

It was an honor just to stand on the same stage as Ne-Yo. Also since Ne-Yo knows of my existence and asks to work together. After the concert ended, we did the after-party together too. Ne-Yo's manager complimented me, saying, 'You're like a foreign artist'. That after seeing me rap as well as the stage performance, that I'd be okay in America as well, and that it'd be cool if Ne-Yo wrote me a song. So I told the manager, 'I'd like that. I didn't ask Ne-Yo because it might bother him' and the manager told me, 'Ne-Yo's humble and cool' so I exchanged contacts with Ne-Yo. But I didn't contact him yet. If I do it too quickly (laugh) he'll be busy.

As for the reason world-reknown pop stars choose me, I'm curious about that too! It might be because the music I make is similar to foreign music, honestly, I don't know.

Q. Lastly, to the fans who've been solid supporters for Jaebum.

I always say this, but thank you for supporting me and thank you for waiting for me. I put out an album with the music I liked, and it's a relief to see you guys liking it. I'm so happy.

Park Jaebum is the 'Original Beastly Man'.

During the era where pretty-boy idols with fragile-looking body statures had taken over the pop world, Park Jaebum had summoned the hidden noona fans with his strong masculine beauty, armed with his perfect six-pack, starting the 'beast-dol' wave. His six-pack was the same as before. In the 'Trend Interview', we captured the secret behind his body figure, unrevealed bare face, and his daily appearances when filming.

Q. What's the secret behind you maintaining your abs? You're the original 'baby glamour man'.

My abs all disappeared. (Laugh) Since I exercised for quite a long time and kept dancing, it's preserved to a certain extent. It's not up to the point where one exclaims 'Wow, daebak' but it comes out right away if I exercise. When we were filming the album (image), we filmed it after I completely worked out hard for five days. It comes out right away even if I do it for just a day. And if I don't exercise for three days, it dries up right away. As for my meals, I eat Korean and Mexican foods all well, but I can't eat things like live squid or gopchang (T/N: Marinated, grilled pig intestines). And I don't know about the original 'baby glamour man' but I think many idols started working out after I grew my muscles. I can't do anything about my face being babyish. I don't think it's a bad nickname. It feels good.

Q. There was no mentions of your time in school whatsoever. Were you possibly a problem child?

I was really good at studying till middle school. After that, I met up with a girlfriend, started dancing, and my score fell. I was good at studying, but I didn't do it. I didn't do my homework much, and I sometimes didn't attend. But it wasn't up to the point I would get in trouble for it. My friends were okay friends, I'm the style to help them out if they went into mischief. I wasn't the one to go into mischief. Me, I just danced every recess, every lunch. I got kicked out with my friends from where we were dancing. However, there weren't any fans that followed me around or anything.

Q. I heard you didn't do drinking at all. Do you do it somewhat now?

About one and a half bottles of soju. (Laugh) I'm not sure, but I think I'm good at drinking. But I'm not the type to suggest to go drinking first. I don't have a type of alcohol I like, so I just drink whatever's given. If it looks like I'll get too drunk, I don't drink at all. There hasn't ever been a time I drank because I wanted to.

Q. Did you go out with many girlfriends? I'm curious about your dating style.

During when I was attending school, I didn't date many girls, just two. When I get a girlfriend, I fit in with all her wants at first. I do everything that she wants to do. It's okay to hold my girlfriend's bag for her, everything's okay to do. Right now, I don't have one, but if I did get one, I'll have to think about making it public. (Laugh) And when I look at women, I can't feel many charms from them if they're too pretty. I don't like the perfect style.

Q. The pictorial you filmed at Seattle will be revealing.

Either in January or February, we shot it at a famous place in Seattle. I especially think fans will like it since it reveals the house I live in and what I do when I'm with friends.

Q. I think the saying 'successful male fan' is meant for Park Jaebum.

Haha. I listened to many foreign artists' songs and liked them since I was young, and I got to see them suddenly after I grew up. They were really cool, so they were nice to see. Will.i.am, especially, doesn't feel like a human. He's like a robot. He's so cool. Regularly, for his personal outfit, he wears sunglasses and gloves and a leather suit, he looked like a robot. He was super awesome and his personality was cool too. My American manager started a company with Will.i.am so I got to meet him, but we didn't talk about music specifically. It was weird to just ask 'When are you going to work with me' so I think we'll work with each other after getting to know each other more.

Q. So your plans for going into international markets?

There's no specific international market plan that I chose. I might just make an album there and then if I kept working with foreigners and there's a good song, and it's no good if I released an album after meeting a famous person too hurriedly, so I want to try for real later.

Q. What's your feelings on having filmed movie 'Mr. Idol'? What kind of role do you want to be next?

In the movie, I had the role of being vicious and rough and being ticked off. I never really filmed a movie before, so I didn't know if I was in with them right, but they were all good to me. The director taught me about acting the most. But I want to keep off acting for a while after this movie's done filming. First I want to concentrate on music, and if I were to start again after I decided I was ready, I want to try doing action. I think it'd be fun to act like Jackie Chan, comical while doing action.

Q. What's your life in your dorm like?

I'm almost never in my dorm, but if I go in at night, I usually watch a rap battle on YouTube or a dancing video. And I don't usually eat my meals at my dorm, but if I do, I eat instant rice and chicken breast. It's good since both of them can be prepared with the microwave. That was enough and easy. Before I exercise, I eat chicken breast, but since that's not enough by itself, I eat instant rice with it. I don't eat nightly snacks that much by myself, but if I'm with friends, I eat (fried) chicken. I'm too lazy.

Q. Do you monitor yourself often?

My gallery seems to be really popular. I like the rough, intense way the fans speak. That doesn't mean I was surprised, though. Everyone's like that. I think it's really fun. There are many memories of things there, (laugh) but it's a bit inappropriate to say here. There's a lot of sexual comments and swearing, that was all fun.
