Terminated Jaebum's attempt at returning to Korea... is there someone with power behind him?
Group 2PM's former member Jaebum has started began mapping out his plans for his return to Korea. With the confirmation of the movie 'Hype Nation,' he will also be working on the production of a new album with American hip hop singer Teddy Riley. To begin recording the movie, he will be returning to Korea in June.
After his comments belittling Korea during his trainee years were revealed and magnified, he was chased out of Korea last September and was eventually terminated in February. Regarding this, JYP Entertainment stated, "It's a mistake that will greatly affect society." The company spared the details in order to protect Jaebum.
Despite it all, Jaebum's fans have been expressing their opinions against the agency. They've thrown rocks at the JYP building and have even shown aggressive protest movements boycotting 2PM and the Wonder Girls. JYPE president Jung Wook eventually opened a hasty conference and stated, "The remaining six members are the victims." Regardless, these statements only aggravated the fans, further worsening the situation.
Even with the situation reaching a point like this, Jaebum is in America, showing a comfortable image. He has been updating his Youtube page and continuously communicating with the fans. When the Cheonanham naval tragedy occurred, he wrote a message of hope. He tried his best in order build a positive image, even going as far as to comment on the reveal of 2PM's new track, stating, "Nichkhun's rap is fire."
The fans are blindly welcoming Jaebum's every movement. An entertainment associate stated, "It's uncomfortable for me to watch Jaebum. He's committed such a severe crime, and for him to just ride on the strength of his fans and act like nothing's wrong and to continue to force a positive image onto himself is uncomfortable."
For JYPE to have terminated Jaebum, the reality of his mistake means that it is that much severe. Regardless, Jaebum has not clarified any of this and is attempting to come back to the Korean celebrity scene.
Many of the entertainment associates believe that there is currently an influence or source of power that is backing Jaebum up. His movie casting and album productions might possibly be managed by a management, causing many to wonder who this presence is.
Jaebum's fans are one sided, believing that Jaebum is the only victim of this case. If Jaebum truly does have the power to use the belief of his fans in order to return to Korea and take down JYPE, the situation will only become more severe. This is one of the many reasons that Jaebum's comeback to Korea is dangerous.
