These days in the music industry, artists don't release 10 songs and promote that one album throughout the year. Instead they release one single, promote for a little while, rest, and then go on to promote another single.
You can't blame anyone for a generation like this, but last year 2PM received good income while promoting 'Heartbeat', and to avoid the Jaebum situation, they had a big long rest until the heat calmed down before coming back up on stage.
In JYP's perspective, when it is time for 2AM's hype from their new songs to die down, he uses the baton touch to maintain their profits and carry out an excellent rotation strategy, an already planned out sequence.
But since the 2PM fans, especially Jaebum's fans have changed, their response to this is unwelcoming. This is because their demands of 'Jaebum's personal life problem' is still not yet clear, and the doubt behind Jaebum's official withdrawal has not yet been solved. Along with this, with the exception of Nichkhun, their disappointment of the other members has still not settled down.
When the time is right, it is most definite that a singer would release a new single and make a comeback stage, and it is normal for them to receive clapping and cheering from their fans. Singers are meant to sing on stage. Telling them not to sing on stage is like telling them not to breathe.
But the situation with 2PM is much different. What would be the background of a celebrity's existence and ability to receive honor? It is the fans' love. With the fans' love and interest, they receive popularity and money. The money they use to make new songs, provide new clothes and maintain their vehicles are all from the fans' love.
However after the recent Jaebum situation, the 2PM's fans turned their backs on 2PM. Aside from Nichkhun who solely kept his loyalty to Jaebum, the fans turned into antis against the other members.
If that is the case, who will 2PM sing their new single to? For the markedly reduced fan minority? No. They are merely performers of JYP's calculated schedule.
Even still, idol groups are just 'project products' who match their dance moves to a catchy song, it is the reality for them to receive a rain of criticism for their long distance away from being respected musicians.
For those members in the company who turned a blind eye to the throwing out of a leader who spent valuable time with them during trainee days, seeing the lack of humanity on their part is only the start for the fans.
Whether or not they sing a sad song or a fun, dance song, nothing has been revealed.
If they sing a sad song, the fans will laugh at the fact that those people who so easily accepted the Jaebum withdrawal are in their brutal business minds to pretend to act sad; if they sing a happy song, fans will grieve by saying 'do you find it fun sending away Jaebum'.
If you've gained some popularity, whether you're a celebrity or part of a company, it's a one-way street. They don't have a care for thanking or paying respect to the fans that made them who they are today.
