"I want to become a popular artist."

Singer Park Jaebum, having succeeded in standing solo, revealed his ambition. This is received as a rather unusual statement coming from Park Jaebum, who had been riding on a peaking wave of popularity after going through group 2PM. However, in this statement, Park Jaebum's inner hopes of wanting to be synced with more fans lies.

Upon meeting with Sports Korea at the set of KBS 2TV music program taking place at KBS open hall at Seoul, Yungdeungpo, Yeoeuido, Park Jaebum said, "I'm really thankful to the fans who always wait for me and support me at the same spot. However, I still think the range of fans that like me are narrow. I want to become a real 'popular artist' that can go back and forth between the age brackets whilst maintaining Park Jaebum's own color."

Park Jaebum's comeback was great. Jaebum, making his comeback to broadcast stages through on the 8th after a period of 1 year and 8 months. Having become a candidate for no. 1 in a single beat with , he took first place for himself, leaving behind group f(x), who had been on a steady incline. Opening his lips with "I was struck dumb as soon as I became first place," he continued with a smile, "I was overwhelmed with just standing on stage again. On top of that, I got first place, so it was hard for me to express my overjoyed feelings in any way. However, it was a relief to be able to say all the people I was thankful to during when I said my feelings when I got first place."

At the same time as his comeback, Park Jaebum is blowing vitality into the album market. In the music world, which operates mainly around selling copies of music, he had his original number of album copies, 50 000, become sold out after just five days. Afterwards, the 5000 spare albums had also sold out and 20 000 additional copies were produced.

Park Jaebum puts the mindset of filling inadequacy first, rather than being satisfied at his results. He revealed his thoughts, saying, "In contrast to the number of album copies sold, the number of digital music sold is low. I wonder if it's because there's something lacking in my music. I think my task is to figure out that something and fill it out. As there was a time for me where I couldn't sing even though I wanted to, I want to keep this time that I can stand on stage precious."
